Technology at our School

We are committed to integrating technology into every aspect of learning to empower students with the skills they need for the digital world. Technology is not just a tool but a vital part of our teaching and learning environment, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Our Technology Resources

We offer a wide range of technology resources designed to support and enrich the educational experience for all students.

Laptop Program

Our school has invested in around 1,000 laptops, which are stored in secure, mobile charging trolleys distributed throughout the school. These laptops are accessible to students during classes or independent study, allowing for flexible and convenient use of digital resources anywhere on campus.

  • Easy Access: Charging trolleys are located in multiple areas to ensure laptops are available when needed.
  • Integration in Learning: Our teachers incorporate laptops into daily lessons across all subjects, helping students research, create projects, and collaborate online.

Virtual Reality (VR) Room

We are proud to offer a Virtual Reality room that transforms learning into an immersive, interactive experience.

  • Immersive Learning: Students can explore complex concepts by "stepping inside" virtual environments related to science, history, geography, and more.
  • Engagement & Creativity: VR activities encourage students to engage creatively while developing spatial awareness and technical skills.
  • Safe Environment: The VR room is supervised to ensure a safe and supportive space for all users.

Computer Labs

Our dedicated computer labs provide students with access to advanced hardware and software tailored for specific learning outcomes.

  • State-of-the-Art Equipment: The labs feature high-performance desktop computers equipped with up-to-date software for coding, graphic design, video editing, and more.
  • Focused Learning Environment: The labs are used for targeted technology classes, including Information Technology, Digital Media, and STEM activities.
  • Teacher-Led Sessions: Expert staff guide students through hands-on projects and coding exercises to build real-world skills.

Smartphone Policy

The NSW smartphone policy for students states that students are not allowed to use mobile phones at school, including during recess and lunch. Principals are responsible for managing individual requests for exemptions from parents, carers, or students. The policy outlines direction and guidance on the safe, responsible, and respectful use of mobile phones for students in NSW public schools, and requires principals to inform all staff about the policy and to establish implementation practices consistent with it. Additionally, principals, teachers, and school administration support staff are tasked with supporting parents, carers, and students to model appropriate use of mobile phones, responding to and reporting any inappropriate use, and determining where mobile phones are to be kept while on school premises. Parents and carers are expected to support the implementation of the policy and communicate with school staff and the school community respectfully and collaboratively.
