Assessment
Students and parents should be made aware in general terms of the overall school assessment procedures for the Record of School Achievement and the assessment requirements for each course.
The Year 9 Assessment Booklet is issued to all students in Year 9 at the beginning of each year as part of Stage 5 assessment. Students and their parents should be able to refer to this booklet in their dealings with the school regarding the implementation of the Stage 5 Record of School Achievement assessment procedures. It is consistent with all aspects of the school's policies on Record of School Achievement assessment.
This student/parent information guide to Stage 5 assessment includes:
- information on the nature and purpose of assessment
- details of assessment schedules for each course
- procedures relating to notification of activities, late submission of activities, absence during activities, provision for illness/misadventure, problems with the administration or design of activities
- information on the type of feedback students will be given about their performance in activities
- student responsibilities regarding assessment activities and the consequences of failure to complete activities
- information on appeal provisions.
