Online Learning Update 5/10

school

Good morning,

Welcome back to Term 4, the final term of a very long year! We resume our online learning today as students continue to learn from home. As announced during the holidays, there has been a revision to the plan for students returning:

25th October: Year 11 (Year 12, 2022)

1st Nov: All other year groups

Until these dates, it is important that all students continue to learn from home. We appreciate it has been difficult having students completing their school work at home throughout Term 3, however, we need to continue to follow the health advice and do all we can to keep people safe as vaccination rates increase and NSW works towards a new COVID normal.

Once students do return, we will still be operating under strict health guidelines. This will mean that all students and staff MUST wear a mask at all times, staggered break times and designated learning and break zones for each year group. We will cover more of this as the dates come closer.

Years 7-10

Students should be continuing to follow the Learning From Home Timetables published on the RHS Remote Learning HUB. Online attendance in these lessons is compulsory. Teachers will be present and available to assist students in their learning. Following these timetables is the easiest way to ensure continuity in their learning.

Year 11

Students in Year 11 commenced the HSC today. As our first HSC cohort in 21 years, this is a very exciting day for the entire Riverstone High School community. We are sure that these students will demonstrate PRIDE in their studies and achieve their personal best.

Year 11 students will be following their standard timetable. New copes of their timetable can be access via the Student Portal. Students who have dropped subjects need to ensure they access their new timetable as this will show their study periods. Students continuing the same subject pattern can continue to use their existing timetable. Most lessons for Year 11 will be conducted via Zoom/Adobe Connect. Attendance is compulsory and will be marked to ensure students are achieving the required learning hours.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
