Good morning,
As you are aware, the Premier announced yesterday (28/7) at least a four week extension to the Greater Sydney Lockdown and stay-at-home orders. While there are some concessions made for Year 12 students and students completing the HSC, for our school this means a continuation of complete remote learning. The school will remain open for students who have to attend where it is absolutely necessary. Based on the Blacktown LGA hard lockdown rules and NSW DoE guidelines, we only have a skeleton staff able to attend school to supervise. Students who attend school complete the same work as those working from home. We know that a continuation of learning at home and lockdown is difficult and means a longer time away from the normality that our usual school routine brings. However, keeping students at home and following the stay-at-home orders is our best strategy to help get back to normal.
Please ensure students are logging on each day and following the Remote Learning HUB timetables (Year 7-10) or their usual timetable (Year 11). Each subject is hosting live online lessons and it is very important for students to be present in these lessons. Staff are monitoring attendance. If you are not sure if your child has a lesson or is completing the work, you can check the Remote Learning HUB to see what they have on this week or contact their teachers or Year Advisor.
Our teachers are working tirelessly to make online learning engaging and to be present to help students. Teachers want their students to know that ‘We are still here’ – you can see this in our latest video message to the school community [Click HERE].
Staff will continue to ring home to discuss the learning with students and parents to ensure we all keep working together to achieve our planned learning outcomes.
