School

As we started the holiday break in June / July, I don’t think that anyone could have predicted that we would be in a remote learning situation for all of term 3 and beyond.

While I know that this has been an incredibly frustrating and challenging time for our students, staff, and community, I am so proud of the way that everyone has pulled together and pushed through. We could have been dwelling on the negatives, but instead, we have chosen to make the most of the opportunities that this way of working and learning has presented for us.

Riverstone High School is a very special place, and the enthusiasm, dedication and professionalism of our staff has continued to shine through during these unpredictable and uncertain times.

Thank you to all members of our school community, our students, parents, and families, for working with us this term. Your support and patience have been greatly appreciated.

Working and learning from home can be a very isolating experience, and I hope that everyone has the chance the recharge and reset over the holiday break. Hopefully we will all be able to start reconnecting as restrictions begin to ease.

Although we will commence Term 4 still in a remote learning situation, we are working towards the return dates that have been publicly announced, with Year 11 returning on November 1st, and Years 7 – 10 on November 8th. We will keep you updated via our website, SMS, and Instagram platforms as we finalise the organisation and arrangements for students to return safely.

As always, I feel incredibly privileged to lead such a strong and resilient community, proud of who we are, where we come from, and all that we stand for.

Stay safe and well xxx

Karen Downie,

Principal
